Adam Miller
I am from Evanston, IL and attended Evanston Township High School. I attended college at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, graduating in 2006 with undergraduate degrees in Physics and Theater. While there I was awarded the Louis B. Sudler Prize in the Arts, a special award designated for the top artist of the academic year.
Next I was a Gates Cambridge Fellow studying at the Institute of Astronomy at Cambridge University, where I earned an m.Phil in Physics. I then attended UC Berkeley, where I received my PhD in Astronomy and Astrophysics studying under the supervision of Professor Joshua Bloom. My PhD thesis focused on the use of time domain surveys to study stellar evolution. In the years following, I was a NASA Hubble Postdoctoral Fellow at JPL-Caltech. Traveling full circle, I have returned to Evanston, where I am the Program Director of the LSSTC Data Science Fellowship Program (DSFP) and a CIERA Fellow at Northwestern University. |
